Fun, fun, fun with Legos! Join Mr Kemal, who has his own passion for legos in Lego Lab!  Lego Lab is where children who have a love for Legos can learn to become a Master Builder.  This program was created to drive each child’s building capability to a higher level of design and engineering.

Exploration Of Emotional and Life Skills 

Deep down to the land of “MySelf” myths and truths lurk. A well-hidden secret and a mystery to be solved for the greatest explorers! An afternoon club or an adventure to creatively play and explore feelings, thoughts, life skills and many many more! This club aims to create a space for creativity, exploration, and imagination to evolve. Let’s try and give some answers to the big question: Who am I?  Led by Ms. Chrysilia Gkleka who holds a BSc in Psychology (University of Reading) and an MSc in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology (UCL), and who is currently pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology at University of Cyprus. She has completed a year-long introduction in drama and play therapy in Athens, Greece during which she worked with children and adolescents in various settings.

The Art Club is a lively after-school activity at our elementary school that encourages creativity and self-expression. Open to all grades, it offers various artistic experiences like drawing, painting, and sculpting. Students will explore different techniques, work on collaborative projects, and showcase their artwork, all in a fun and relaxing environment.

During the class there are group and individual exercises and games that aim at strengthening the body, enhancing balance and flexibility. Children learn the capoeira moves and technique, and use them in a form of ‘dialogue’ with the help of the music. Music plays an essential role in capoeira: percussion and singing are used extensively to set the rhythm of the moves. Maria Aloneftou, who has been running Morningside’s Capoeira club for six years with great success. She has been training and teaching Capoeira to children in Cyprus with the team Apeiara.

Join our exciting afternoon club for children, where the wonders of science and the animal kingdom come to life! Young scientists will conduct hands-on experiments like volcano eruptions, chemical reactions, slime-making, and blasting rockets, fostering curiosity, teamwork, and collaboration. They will ask questions, make predictions, and draw conclusions, while presenting their findings to peers. Our LE teacher Kemal Sozuoz will be guiding the children through the world of science. Come and join us as we inspire young minds with fun science exploration!

 Join our Spanish for beginners program with Ms. Chiara, a highly qualified instructor with a Masters degree in Spanish Linguistics and a native speaker from Lima, Peru. Chiara has taught Spanish before in several schools in the United States.

The benefits of incorporating chess into a child's education are truly remarkable and cannot be overstated. Chess serves as a catalyst for brain growth, stimulating and exercising both sides of the brain simultaneously. Beyond its reputation as a game, chess is known to ignite creativity and foster the development of problem-solving skills. Under the guidance of our trusted chess teacher, Mark Bryan, an experienced chess trainer and player, children will delve into the intricate world of chess.

 FILM CLUB 

Get ready for an exciting exploration as we delve into a wide array of film genres, including fiction, documentary, animation, and other artistic expressions like photography and soundtracks. With Mr Mo, our drama teacher and film enthusiast, children will learn the fundamentals of film direction, storytelling, creating engaging plots, developing characters, capturing raw footage, various filming techniques, and the art of editing. Our club aims to ignite their creativity and imagination by immersing them in captivating fictional tales, eye-opening documentaries, and enchanting animations. Join us as we embark on a journey of cinematic discovery, unleashing their creativity and passion for filmmaking. Children will need to have their own filming equipment that will be used exclusively during the time of the club (i.e. camera, tablet or phone). This club is more suitable for ages 9-12 years old.

If your child would like to start learning English in a fun, hands-on Montessori way, then these lessons are for you! Our tailor-made lessons are designed for curious minds aged 5-9 years old, offering an engaging and interactive learning experience for non-native English speakers. We highly recommend this group for children who are not native speakers in English and would like to register at Morningside Montessori as full-time students. This club is led by the dynamic and experienced Ms. Brigitt, an accomplished Montessorian and our new Upper Elementary Guide.
